Welcome Letter from Principal
Dear Blue Ridge Family:
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the newly appointed principal of Blue Ridge School. We are happy that Blue Ridge will be your child’s home away from home for the 2019-2020 academic year.
During my career in education, I have served as a teacher, a K-5 instructional coach, a Title 1 coordinator, and a principal. I am both elated and honored to be accepted and welcomed into the Dalton community, where I can begin my work with children, staff and parents of Blue Ridge. 2019-2020 promises to be a very exciting year!
Together we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Blue Ridge by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners. We will focus on the use of data to inform instruction, Responsive Classrooms to emphasize academic, social and emotional growth, and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities that focus on assuring the rigor of instruction in meeting the Georgia Standards of Excellence. We will continue our series of Teacher Parent Team meetings to ensure that parents are informed of their child’s academic performance, and to provide parents with activities that will support and enhance their learning at home.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide our students the best opportunities in preparing for the world, ready to master challenges placed in their path. As your principal, my door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss your concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best it can be!
Mrs. Christine Long
