Meet Our Principals

Ali Finley- Principal graphic

Hello Blue Ridge Families!

It is with great excitement to introduce myself as the new principal of Blue Ridge School and to join this wonderful school community.  I am thrilled to be here!

I come to you with 20 years of experience in education. This is my third year as an elementary principal. I have served as classroom teacher, an instructional coach, and an assistant principal. I am a graduate of Dalton High School and it feels great to be back in the system that supported me and my journey to becoming an educator.

Family is very important to me. I have two children, Lula who is 3 and Miles who is 12. Miles attends Hammond Creek Middle School and will begin 7th grade this year. My husband, J.T, also a graduate of Dalton High School, stays busy running his family business, Maryville Jewelers.

I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. . I believe in a home school partnership and look forward to building those relationships with your family. I will soon begin “Popcorn with the Principal”, so be on the lookout for that announcement soon.

I am here to make every effort to help your child reach his/her full potential. My door is always open. I welcome your conversations and input as we work together this school year. It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Veronica Vital- Assistant Principal

Hi! My name is Veronica Vital. I am very excited to be a part of Blue Ridge Elementary. More importantly, I am delighted to be the Assistant Principal at such a wonderful place. It is going to be a fun year, filled with lots of learning and new adventures. I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us.

I want to share a little about myself. I was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to the United States when I was 2 years old. My parents, Rosalina and Alvaro decided to move to the United States to give us a better quality of life. I was raised in Georgia, and I am the second oldest of six. I have two sisters, Fatima and Becky, and three brothers, David, Alvaro, and Jesus.

I graduated from Murray County Schools. I attend Dalton State College where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I received my master’s degree at Georgia Southern University. I began teaching in 2011 with Dalton Public Schools. I started teaching Pre-Kindergarten, then taught Kindergarten, First grade, and later became an ESOL teacher for grades 3rd-5th. Teaching has always been my passion since I was a little girl. I remember always helping my siblings do homework and teaching them how to speak English.

I am married to my amazing husband, Alejandro Vital, who is a Dalton business owner. I have a stepson who graduated from Dalton High School. My husband and I love to travel and to spend time with family. We love going to Mexico over the holidays to see our family.

There is so much that I am looking forward to this year. This is going to be an AMAZING year!
