The Cats didn’t just have home-course advantage yesterday. They owned it!
Dalton Middle Cross Country welcomed the region to Grove Level, and by the end of the afternoon, BOTH the boys and girls teams were bringing home BGMSAA Region Championships!
For the boys, Hammond Creek’s top five finishers were Mateo Prieto, Jeremiah Hall, Preston O’Ferrall, Marcello Martinez, and Gael Joaquin. Dalton Junior High was led by Tomas Espitia (7th), Matthew Howard (8th), Leo Torres (9th), Julian Ochoa (14th), and Dev Saiyaju.
On the girls’ side, Hammond Creek put four runners inside the top eight, led by Miah Real (5th), Jacky Ortega (6th), Aaliyah Shaw (7th), and Alexa Hurtado (8th), with Sophia Alvarado finishing 15th. Dalton Junior High’s top five were Emily Suarez (12th), Ariana Guzman (13th), Lena Haugen (15th), Alexia Gallegos, and Dani Perez.
It was a dominant afternoon from start to finish and a championship performance from our runners across both schools!
A huge thank you also goes to everyone who volunteered and helped make the Region Championship at Grove Level possible!

Our boys golf team took on nine other schools at the region championship and came away with an impressive second-place finish!
Led by Link Bearden and Liam Rodriguez, and joined by Brandt Bowers, Jackson Hitchens, Brock Aaron, and Beckham Holguin, the boys left it all on the course and capped off a great season with some hardware!
⛳ Liam Rodriguez also earned low medalist honors for the team!

Our Girls Golf team rose to the occasion yesterday and brought home the Region Runner-Up trophy!
These girls have put in so much work this season, and it paid off when it mattered. We’re incredibly proud of the way they represented Dalton and competed at the region championship!

Science came to life in Ms. Mathis's classroom! 🔬🦎🐢
Students recently had the opportunity to learn from special visitors from the Tennessee Aquarium and get an up-close look at some amazing animals.
From observing fascinating creatures to getting the chance to touch a few of them, students experienced hands-on learning that brought science beyond the textbook.
We're grateful for this partnership and appreciate the Tennessee Aquarium sharing their time, knowledge, and animal ambassadors with our students. We look forward to their next visit!

Today, students and staff kicked off Homecoming Week by showing their spirit in their favorite pajamas.
From cozy slippers to colorful pajama sets, our Tigers fully embraced the theme and helped make Pajama Day a fun way to start the week!
