Roan School recently launched its High School Athlete Mentor Program with a kickoff picnic lunch. We want to extend our thanks to The Dalton Academy Athletic Director Michael Bolen, Dalton High School Athletic Directors Ryan Richards and Chad Jordan, and the dedicated high school athletes who helped make this event a success. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish together!










🐾 Battle of the Mascots Recap! 🐾
In an unforgettable showdown, mascots from Hammond Creek Middle, Dalton Junior High, The Dalton Academy, and Dalton High competed in the first-ever "Battle of the Mascots"! Hammie from Hammond Creek stole the show, wrestling his way to the “Fan Favorite District Champion” Title Belt. Meanwhile, DJ from Dalton Junior High dominated his matches, winning the most points and taking home the first place Plaque for DJHS! The incredible HCMS cheerleaders kept the energy high, rallying the crowd and bringing spirit to the Legacy Matches.
Thank you to all who came out to support wrestling in our district, and a big thanks to our dedicated educators for making moments like these possible for our students!











Dalton High School Drama Club Earns Second Place at One Act Competition
The Dalton High School Drama Club, the DHS Players, recently brought home second place honors at their One Act Competition with an impressive performance of the musical Godspell. This dynamic production showcased the hard work and talent of Dalton High’s drama students and earned several standout individual awards.
Congratulations to Kinsley Stephens and Hayden Poe, who were named to the All-Star Cast, and to Ellis Stephens, who received the Best Actor award for his performance. These recognitions highlight their dedication and skill in bringing the characters to life on stage.

SETTING NEW STANDARDS IN MATH: City Park Elementary and Westwood Elementary have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as 2023-24 Math Leader Schools for their outstanding growth in 5th Grade Gateway Math scores!

Westwood School recently hosted an exciting Career Day, where students explored various professions and gained valuable insights into future possibilities. A big thank you to the community volunteers who took the time to share their expertise and passion, helping inspire the next generation.











Blue Ridge School gave a big shoutout to its Students of the Month with a fun Jaguar Walk! These students, chosen for being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready, took a proud walk while classmates, staff, and even the Lady Pumas from The Dalton Academy cheered them on. Way to go, Jaguars!

Brookwood’s Kindergarten and Pre-K students brightened the day with a special mask parade!

Third graders at Roan School recently connected with Ranger Anne E. Wilson from Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, learning about the discovery of Miocene mammal fossils in Nebraska and the unique friendship between rancher James Cook and Lakota Chief Red Cloud. Ranger Wilson shared how these discoveries and connections preserve both ancient history and Lakota culture, linking closely with the students' social studies lessons!

City Park School recently hosted a lively Block Party, proving once again that these Panthers know how to party! Families enjoyed a night filled with fun, food, and exciting math activities that turned learning into a memorable experience for all. Thank you to everyone who made the event so successful!

Dalton Public Schools is proud to shine a spotlight on its 21st Century Programs as we celebrated Lights On Afterschool on Thursday, October 24. This annual event, launched in 2000 by the Afterschool Alliance, celebrates the critical role of afterschool programs in enriching the lives of children, families, and communities.
Dalton Public Schools is proud to offer four such programs: Kid City North, Kid City South, Cat City, and Cat University, serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
