đŠđ„đReminder: This Thursday is Movie Night! We are excited to invite our Lions back to Brookwood to enjoy a movie together from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Movie Night tickets are $10 each and must be purchased by Wednesday, February 11th. Tickets include: a slice of pizza, chips, and a drink!
đŠđ€â€ïžđOur Lions kicked off Black History Month with a school-wide assembly highlighting creativity and the beauty in its ability to link us all - regardless of how different we may look on the outside. Our speaker, Ms. Marisa Elaine, shared the inspirational story of Trombone Shorty. She emphasized the importance of community, grit, and following your dreams against all odds. Several of our Lions also shared poems, biographies, and essays about the power of creativity to bring us together.

đŠđThis week is National School Counseling Week, and we are always eager to find a way to honor our incredible counselors at Brookwood for the continuous work they do! They go above and beyond to show up and help guide all of our Lions. Shoutout to Ms. Rogers and Mrs. Marcus!
đŠđ»Several of our Lions traveled to Rome to compete in The Northwest Georgia RESA Regional Tech Competition. These Lions are the first from Brookwood to compete in this competition, and we could not be more proud of them!

đŠđ¶Learning about sound doesn't have to be boring! These 1st Grade Lions used the Engineering Design Process to explore how sound works through vibration. When it came to the "Create" phase of their EDP, they were able to build the musical instruments they had designed! #BrookwoodSTEM
đŠđ§ȘThese 2nd graders have been learning about procedural text, so naturally, they discovered the procedure to make slime! After reading how to make it, they went right to work! We love providing opportunities for our Lions to put their knowledge to use đ€

đŠđŸWe want to give a very special shoutout to some of our incredible Community Partners! Thank you to the Oakwood Cafe, Hamilton's Food & Spirits/Pizzeria, and Crescent City Tavern for partnering with us! These businesses matched the amount of money our 2nd Grade Community Innovators raised by baking and selling dog treats in December. Together, we were able to donate almost $1,000 to the incredible work House of Paws, Inc. is doing to provide shelter and care to so many homeless animals in our area! Working together to make a positive impact on our community is the heart and soul of our STEM work, and we could not do it without our Community Partners đ€ #BrookwoodSTEM
