DALTON, GA — City Park School will implement updated parking and traffic flow procedures beginning Tuesday, January 6, when students return from winter break. The changes are designed to enhance campus safety and improve traffic flow during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.
With increased activity around campus during peak times, the updated procedures will help ensure clear access for emergency vehicles, reduce congestion, and create a safer environment for students, staff, families, and visitors.
Key updates to parking and traffic procedures include:
Parents may enter and exit City Park School using School Street or North Thornton Avenue
Vehicles exiting onto North Thornton Avenue must turn right
City Park families may not use the Cyber Academy parking lot or drop-off area
Parents visiting campus must park only in designated City Park parking spaces
Car rider lanes and drop-off areas are fire lanes and must remain clear at all times; parking is not permitted
Morning drop-off should be completed through the car rider line; parents should not park and walk students inside
Overflow parking is available behind City Park School on Jones Street or at the public parking deck located at 206 W. King Street
City Park School encourages families to review these procedures in advance of the return to school to help ensure a smooth transition. School administrators appreciate the community’s support as these updates are implemented to prioritize student safety and campus efficiency.
