Students in Mrs. Ash's and Mrs. Chlebisch’s ELA classes presented their Savvas Week 6 project: a travel brochure.

Block Party at the 405...Lego block party, that is!!
PAWS is excited to share that the City Park Media Center was awarded a grant for instruction from the Dalton Education Foundation! The grant, titled Block Party at the 405, helped to purchase a LEGO My World set from LEGO Education. This particular set was purchased to go along with the Kindergarten Savvas unit about community. Students enjoyed using the blocks to try to create some of the people and places they have been learning about!

Students in 2nd grade drama class are learning about Hispanic Heritage Month. They created a symbol inspired of the independence of Mexico.
Kickin' It Safely in PE
Wearing the right shoes is a big part of keeping kids safe and successful in P.E.! Proper athletic shoes give students the support they need to run, jump, and play without slipping or getting hurt.
Shoes that stay securely on the feet — like sneakers with laces or Velcro — help prevent trips and falls.
Sandals, boots, Crocs, or flip-flops can make it hard to participate fully and safely.
Please help your child be ready for P.E. by sending them in comfortable, well-fitting athletic shoes on P.E. days. The right footwear helps your child do their best and stay injury-free!
Ms. Gomez's third grade class participated in a cookie excavation where students used toothpicks to carefully “excavate” the chocolate chips without breaking the cookie!
They compared this to paleontologists carefully removing fossils from rocks using their tools.

Kindergarten is wrapping up their unit about My Community! As part of their project based inquiry, each kindergarten class is visiting the CP library to see some of the interesting artifacts that are on display! They learned that the artifacts represent people, places, and things from different time periods and different places! They went on a treasure hunt and found old photographs, old technology items, old dolls and memorabilia!
PAWS never knows what he might CATch our students doing!! Just now he found a kindergarten class using their devices to CApTure shapes around our school!
This month, we’re focusing on the character trait of responsibility — and caring for books is a great way to practice! Here are a few ways families can help at home:
✅ Pick a Safe Spot: Choose a special place at home where library books stay when not being read.
✅ Handle with Care: Show children how to turn pages gently and keep books away from food, drinks, and pets.
✅ Make Reading a Routine: Set aside a daily reading time — even 10 minutes a day makes a big difference.
✅ Return on Time: Help your child remember library days and return books promptly.
✅ Praise Responsibility: When you notice your child taking care of their books, celebrate it!
By practicing responsibility with books, students learn to value reading and respect shared materials — building habits that help them grow as readers and community members.
