Get Ready for the Help A Child Smile Program!
The Help A Child Smile Program will be at Westwood on January 29. It is a full-service dental care program that comes directly to our school! Medicaid / PeachCare and most private insurances accepted.

Going Gaga!!
Before the break, PE classes have been learning all about Gaga ball-a fun, fast-paced, dodgeball-like game played in a “pit”. It's a mix of dodging, striking, jumping, aiming, and running. Mrs. King wrote a grant to the Dalton Education Foundation last year to fund the equipment. Thank you DEF for providing our school with a new game that is fun for ALL students!

When school resumes on January 6, students may not bring personal cell phones, smart watches, or devices to school under the Distraction-Free Education Act.
All communication will take place through:

If your child received a new device over the break, please keep it at home or in the student’s book bag.

The Wildcat chorus enjoyed spreading Christmas cheer by caroling at different DPS locations today! They sang at Westwood, HCMS, DHS, and Central Office. We are proud of these performers and the hard work they do! 🎄🎶

Winter Break Reminder!
School will be closed from December 22 through January 5.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 6.

Beginning January 6, personal cell phones, smart watches, and other personal devices will not be permitted during the school day under the Georgia Distraction-Free Education Act. Since our schools do not have a place to store devices, please be sure students leave them at home or in the student’s book bag.

Mrs. Torres’ and Mrs. Calsetta’s students were busy spreading holiday cheer! 🎄
They mailed Christmas cards to parents, wrote letters to Santa, and delivered candy bags and cards to our wonderful staff at the 101 building. Such a joyful way to share kindness this season! ♥️🐾

Today, the DHS Basketball Boys and their coaches visited our school to read to our Wildcats! Our students had so much fun listening to the stories, playing basketball with them in PE, and enjoying their company during lunch.

Our 5th grade DLI classes had a wonderful time meeting with their Pre-K buddies this week! Together, they made reindeer necklaces and enjoyed spending time creating and learning side by side. ♥️🎄🦌

Our C3 students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work this week during the Odyssey of the Mind C3 Competition! Odyssey of the Mind encourages creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem solving, and our Wildcats rose to the challenge as they tackled two instructional tasks designed to stretch their thinking in new ways.

Students may contact home by:
• Calling from the front office
• Teacher messaging through Rooms
• Nurse calling home
As part of the Distraction-Free Education Act, personal devices will not be permitted during the school day beginning January 6.

To support a more focused, engaged, and distraction-free learning environment — and to comply with the new Georgia state law — personal devices (including cell phones and smart watches) will not be permitted during the school day for Dalton Public Schools students in grades K–8.
Families can still reach students and staff by calling the front office, emailing the teacher or school, or sending a message through the Dalton Public Schools app. These methods ensure clear, consistent communication while helping keep classrooms centered on learning.

Our Wildcats had a great time at our Christmas lunch today! They enjoyed a yummy meal with their friends in a decorated cafeteria while listening to holiday music.
Each student also received a Christmas card and a candy cane at the end. It was a fun and festive day for everyone! ♥️🎄🐾
